It Happens To Everyone
At some point in their lives, everyone will have days like this. Days when you can’t be bothered, days when we are filled with panic and days where nothing feels okay. These are the days we need to practice our self-care the most but these can often be the most difficult days to do it.
There are so many different ways you could do some self-care and try to improve your mood and the way you feel. I have made a list of some of the best things to do when you are having one of these days.

Shower Or Bath
Getting washed and dressed, being washed and putting some clean clothes on will make you feel a lot better. Even if you shower and put a clean pair of pyjamas back on it will help. If you really want you can also have a nice bath instead, use a bath bomb or some epsom salts. Play some nice relaxing music and just breathe.
Move
You may be tempted to stay in bed or on the sofa all day, this will not help you to feel better. Getting up and even just moving around your house will help, if you can going out for a quick walk to get some fresh air, clear your head and exercise. This will help to make you feel a little bit better.
Eat Healthy Food
Having a healthy meal or snack is really important. I know sometimes when you have a hard day you can forget to eat or even eat really unhealthily. So trying to have a healthy meal or snack is super important. If you can’t then any food you have is better than none.
Do Your Favourite Thing
Doing something that you enjoy can be really beneficial to you on a bad day. Whether you do it for fifteen minutes or an hour. Doing something you enjoy doing like reading or drawing can be a good way to spend your time.
Take A Nap
I don’t know about you but I am not a good sleeper especially when I am not in the right headspace. When there is a lot of stuff going on in my head I always tend to have a bad nights sleep. So I think having a nap during the day if you can is really good to catch up on some missed sleep.
Take It Easy On Yourself
Finally, the last tip I have for you is to take it easy, relax. Whilst doing all of these things may help you, it is important to listen to your body and what you need. So, if what you need is to cuddle up on the sofa or in your bed under some blankets and watch Netflix then you should do that.

These are some of my favourite things to do when I am having a bad mental health day. These self-care ideas always make me feel a little bit better, I hope they will do the same for you. If you have any other tips or ideas please let me know!
